Biography
I graduated Idaho State University in 1992 with a degree in video production. Since then I’ve worked in a variety of jobs. During college I worked as camera operator for the local NBC station and did contract video jobs for the Forest Service. The Forest Service gig was much better because it offered me a chance to work in the environment I love, the outdoors.
After college I got a job for the local community access television station. It was a great opportunity and taught me that television can be more than car chases and murder mysteries. As they say in the community access world, it’s television by the people, for the people.
In 1997 I decided a move was in order so I moved to Boise Idaho where I worked for a company doing videos for guide companies in Alaska, Idaho and Wyoming. Fun job but the money wasn’t really there. In 1999, I returned to my home town of Pocatello, Idaho and have been my own boss ever since.
For the past 3 years I have been working in a region I have grown to know and love. Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. The Osa Peninsula is also home to Corcovado National Park, which is described by National Geographic as the most biological intense place on the planet. After first visiting the region in 1999, I decided I was going to use my skills in video production to produce a program highlighting this regions ecological importance and the reasons it needs to be protected. I returned 3 more times beginning in 2002 with camera in hand.
I was the sole sponsor of this program. It is the Osa as I saw it over a period of 3 years. I hope you enjoy it.... |
